The Mail Ideas Live - Event Overview

The Mail Ideas Live was a landmark series of live digital events hosted by the publication’s leading journalists in conversation with high-profile guests to create the publication’s first virtual festival, centred on the idea of ‘Moving Britain Forward’. It was an entertaining, thought-provoking programme of events that tapped into the issues, opinions, and personalities our readers cared about as their thoughts turned to the future.

The first four talks focused on body image, politics, the royal family, and life in the public eye, featuring celebrities such as Joan Collins, Rupert Everett, and Giles Brandreth as well as noted commentators including Andrew Neil, Jenni Murray, and Amanda Platell. Hosts were drawn from the top tier of Mail contributors: John Humphrys, Andrew Pierce, Liz Jones, and Robert Hardman.

These events were filmed live from a studio in central London and broadcast globally to registered viewers using an exclusive high-quality online streaming platform – making them one of the most accessible ways to consume Mail content wherever they were in the world.

I art directed and created the graphic design for the whole campaign, ensuring a visually compelling and cohesive identity that reflected the innovation and energy of this landmark series.

Each talk was 45 minutes long, with 15 minutes at the end where users could ask questions to the guests by submitting them via the chat function of the streaming platform any time during the event.

Tickets were available with a 20 per cent discount for Mail subscribers, and there were also bundles on offer that could be used to purchase the books discussed during the talks (facilitated by the Mail Bookshop).
